I love when woodworkers take their craft to a whole new level. Omar Perez, a furniture makers, lends his hand to making sculptural stilettos that will knock your socks off. Mostly used as art objects or in photo shoots, these heels are over the top and barely wearable and yet there’s something that draws me to them. I want to try them all on – just for kicks.

This is an image featuring my high heel shoe sculptures titled “Werk Boots.” These heels are made of Bloodwood, Vinyl, Zipper and Band Saw Blades.

See more of these hair-raising heels here.
All of the heel close up images are by Katharine Landmeier. Photo of model with tattoos is by Bryan Anderson and the black and white image is by Jay Rusovich.

Good grief! This guy really hates women!!

On the contrary, the reason for designing the Stilett\O\ series is to pay tribute to women and what they must go through to wear such heels. By using the bandsaw blades and over the top materials and height, I’m trying to show the pain you must endure when wearing them. Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed.

Love these sculptures, especially the Cocobollo, my favourite wood ( I hope thats what it is?)
Omar Angel Perez on 04.14.2012 at 15:22 PM
Thanks David, that is Cocobolo on the Carolyn heel. All of the woods you see are veneers on a solid Mahogany base.
