We’ve all seen our fair share of spiral staircases but rarely do they make one do a double take like this collaboration between .PSLAB and architect Bernard Khoury. Designed for a residence in Beirut, Lebanon, the design brings light to the staircase and continues the spiral upwards to the ceiling.

The lighting concept mimics the spiral and gives a sculptural element to the often dead space at the top of most staircases. The light fans down and around and shines light down the winding stairs. Pretty smart, yet?

Those are amazing! How much does it cost to implement though?

In fact, I have no idea, but if you’re interested I can send you a contact to my coleague, who designed them. :)

i think it needs to be longer, like half way down the stair case.

This is a really cool idea, I always wonder where people get their inspiration from. It would be cool if the light bulbs changed colours to match whatever mood you are in.
