Spot by Quentin de Coster is a playful birdhouse that’s a bit of a departure from the traditional wooden nest box through its use of thermoformed polystyrene and aluminium. With its outer rim, birds can land on the house’s “lawn” for a rest or go inside for shelter.

hello there!
I’m just very skeptic about these particular birdhouses, cause they’re not only .. well ugly, but dangerous as well. It is very easy for a bigger bird to get to the little baby birds inside and have them for dinner. Have You seen such a scene? well I have. If you make a house for birds, then you should think about the safety as well, not just shape, color, material ;)
It is very easy for designer to make something new, but they should think more about the concept and use in all aspects.
hopefully no one will buy this product!

This looks like many other birdhouses I have seen, I’m not sure what you mean by dangerous. What would be your suggestion to make it better?

lose the bottom, so that the crow, cat, …., can’t get to birdhouses entry..
take a look here:

that’s what i Googled for English use :)
If one is a designer, he should think more, you know, that’s the job
p.s. sorry for may English ;)
