If you’re on the hunt for where to get reclaimed wood for flooring or furniture project and you’re finding it difficult, Timeline is a new design alternative to reclaimed wood and conventional on-site finishing.

Timeline creates and manufactures lumber through their special color process, creating a selection of 11 color options. The wood is lead paint-free, nail-free, and pest-free.Plus, they use sustainable lumber from FSC-certified mills, a water-based sealant and low VOC materials.

See their entire selection on Timelinewood.com.

It is NOT reclaimed wood… It is fake reclaimed wood from sustainable mills. The benefit is no lead in the paint and that the wood is harvested sustainably. the downside is it’s not reclaimed wood.

Yes, I understand that. I added the word “alternative” to the title of the post. It was already noted in the text.

even more upside is that you can get colors you can’t get with reclaimed and get unlimited supply….

There is no shortage of beautifully antiqued reclaimed wood. Why choose an imitator when you can have the real thing?
Any finish, any color and it’s the only truly sustainable wood.

@ Pete not true. If you want a consistent look, reclaimed doesn’t work. Plus you pay to de-nail and fumigate, as well as for the overages from spitting wood.

I saw Timeline Wood at a Dwell convention in LA and was very impressed by their product . Was beautiful. Wish It had been used in our house instead of the reclaimed wood we have now. Need to replace a section of wood and can’t find a match.

Was interested in this site from Pinterest. Looking for alte rnative floorings. But came here only to find a bunch of egotistical people acting like cats and dogs. Just admit it you are trying to sell a product. And Mr. Natural who is trying to teach the world all he knows about sustainability isn’t any more attractive. Would be nice if we, as people, were a little more loving and accepting of that fact that there are more options and opinions and alternatives than the few that are stuck in our own heads and that not everyone has to agree with us. Ok, going back to Pinterest. Thanks and feel free to delete this. It’s not meant to be kept here. Just thought I would mention it.

Lana,
To me it just seems like a healthy discussion. My original post was simply to bring clarity, and Jaimie was quick to change the title of the article. To me, the rest just seems like a good discussion about the pros and cons to using reclaimed wood. I’ve found it all helpful.

Reminds me of ‘Vintage Style’. I had a short obsession with Members Only jackets a few years back. I bought about 8 online and a few stated in the description that they were ‘vintage’ but upon arrival and inspection it was clear they were not vintage, oh well I guess most people can’t tell the difference. Good to see that Timeline doesn’t use a bunch of toxins in their flooring, I was surprised to learn that non carpet flooring can be just as toxic as carpet!
