Luxit, a Leucos USA brand, has just released Top Four, a series of LED lighting options that resemble LEGOs.
Designed by award winning Italian designers Alberto Basaglia and Natalia Rota Nodari, the series is available in ten varieties, from floor lamps, wall and ceiling installations, and clamp on desk lighting. The LED technology used has the same light output as an Edison 60-watt lamp using four 0.5-watt lights. Each lamp has 50,000 hours of illumination and just looks darn cool. It’d be cool if they snapped together to create custom lamps…

Awesome! I see so many more forms of this lamp than they have put together. I’d love this in a drafting light with a base. Though I often don’t like chrome, this would look great in it. Also, a taller than average floor lamp style made to be mounted to the wall, say to hang a painting on? Also these would be totally moddable to replace one of the four lamps with another color to change the lamp’s temperature. Or change all of them to set a scene or pick out a feature. I don’t think I’ve ever come across a product that inspired so many ideas.
