These typographic maps by Axis Maps take locating a destination to a whole new level. Each map accurately shows the location of streets and highways, parks, neighborhoods, coastlines, and other features of each city using only words. To create these impressive maps, every single letter and word was manually placed, taking hundreds of hours to complete each map.
Poster-sized prints are just $30 and they currently have Chicago (color or black and white) and Boston (color). Let’s hope they make more cities soon!

These kind of remind me of Ork Posters’ neighborhood prints.

Certainly not a new idea. NB Studio came up with a London map quite a few years ago: http://www.nbstudio.co.uk/londonskerning/index.html

That is a beautiful city representation. It would be great for almost any downtown office. Hope they do a Texas city next.

Sure. Just as I was in the order process, Zazzle went down. The Chicago map will be perfect for my hallway, I can look up where I’m going right before I go out the door.

I love the design. It doesn’t matter if its not entirely new concept wise, it’s cool all by itself, it looks great!

I am about to order the boston map in the recommend size. I am not sure if I should go w/ the matte or just the standard poster. Any recommendations?
