Villa Amanzi in Phuket, Thailand was designed by Original Vision Architecture, a firm specializing in luxuriously modern designs with offices in Hong Kong and Thailand. The villa, which has hints of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water in that it is multi-level and built into the landscape, went up in 2008. It’s nestled in a cascading, west facing ravine, with a dramatic granite slab at the northern edge, and the sparkling Andaman Sea to the south.
The home is at once solid and airy; it’s meant to seem as if it grew out from the rock, yet, the view over the water stretches to the horizon. Indoor/outdoor living is taken advantage of, with an open air living room and dining room space melding seamlessly with the patio and wood decking of the pool. There are also sliding doors at the front of the house to encourage sea breeze and circulation. The saltwater pool, which juts out from the house, is cantilevered over the lower level in a spectacular feat of horizontal versus vertical layering.

It’s almost the Justice house.

Very nice and without question the work as well as the architect was influenced by Frank Loyd Wright. The design is so reminiscent of Falling Waters.

Truly stunning and very reminiscent of FLW. My only critique as that it seems as though the infinity pool, and not the landscape, is the centerpiece of this house. Really, all eyes should be on those breathtaking views and, not a pool.
