“With” House in Japan by StudioLOOP Architects

With House in Japan by StudioLOOP Architects

This amazing modern house by StudioLOOP, placed on what it seems a rural setting, has a nice contrast against its surroundings. The rice paddy field on the backyard is a visually relaxing — yet likely functional — touch. The void on the second floor is a great architectural detail –not only providing the first floor with tall ceilings, but providing the second floor with a never-ending interaction with what’s happening down below. The second floor terrace has an almost club-like appearance with its a nook for a DJ table and the speakers facing toward the crowd.

  4. This is a beautiful house. Was it built from 3 shipping containers?

  5. @Brian I’m not sure, but I don’t think so. The ceilings seem a bit too high for shipping containers and the space seems to wide. Let me know what you find out, though!
