World Architecture Day 2014 Global Summit

This year, World Architecture Day heads east to Shanghai for a summit November 12th, 13th, and 14th. As the global population increases, the need rises for mobility and infrastructure developments that support this growth. From residential housing to sustainability and urban development, the summit looks at the proposition ‘Towards 8 Billion: Moving the City,’ and asks the world’s leading architects, designers, engineers, city leaders, planners and developers to engage in debate and discussion regarding the rise in global population and the impact on our cities. This 3-day meeting will dive deep into this topic and debate urban mobility, from logistics and finance to urban regeneration and people flow. It’s not one to be missed.

The first day will consist of workshops in consulate offices and architects’ studios across Shanghai, followed by a variety of presentations and seminars. Then, explore the findings of the workshops through panel discussions, complemented by a debate stimulating program of keynotes and presentations. The final day will conclude with your choice of building tours of iconic structures around Shanghai.

It looks to be a fantastic and exciting experience – but don’t take my word for it. Check out pics from last year’s event here.
