Pastel colors have slowly been making a comeback after falling out of favor in recent decades. Instead of going over the top with them, designers are incorporating subtle accents throughout the spaces they’re designing, adding pastel color without it being too sticky sweet. Take a look at ten spaces we could totally live with that are doing pastels some justice.
Subtle pastels are employed in this modern living room without being over the top sweet. The pastels are balanced out with black wall sconces and a dark blue accent wall.
Styled by Laura Fulmine, this quaint dining area features light colored walls and floors with the palest of pink covering the trim. Surrounding the table are four Wishbone chairs in four different pastel colors.
Neutral bedding is paired with a pastel purple-y pink blanket, decanter set, and walls painted up to a raw, unfinished edge to create a dreamy place to sleep.

The transformation helped to modernize it with a subtle palette of soft grays and whites which were made far less boring with two shelves painted out in pink and a piece of art with a pale blue and minty green.
This modern kitchen, designed by E/L Studio, might rock primary colors for most of its accents, but they went with a soft pastel blue/green color on the painted floors. It seems to ground the other bright colors in the room.
