Aki by Studio Dreimann for ITRE

German design firm Studio Dreimann recently designed the Aki pendant lamp for the Italian lighting manufacturer ITRE. Aki was designed for use in offices but I think it would work over a dining table as well. The fixture was inspired by canopies of leaves and the way light floods through them.

The open structure is made of CNC milled wood that has six built-in LED strips that provide ample light. You can get it in the natural wood, as well as a white or grey enameled finish. It’s a substantial piece but still feels somewhat delicate.
