ames Furniture: A Mix of Colombian & Scandinavian Vibes

German brand ames launched several new upholstery textiles and designs during IMM Cologne 2014. The line has a way of mixing Colombian “joie de vivre” (French for ‘joyful living’) and Scandinavian functionality to create versatile products that are perfect for modern and unconventional spaces.

Designed by Icelandic designer Erla Sólveig Oskarsdóttir, the foss sofa and foss armchair were inspired by a waterfall as a way to celebrate her home country’s natural beauty. foss is Icelandic for waterfall and the midsection of the upholstery is reminiscent of the phenomenon.

cuatro is a minimalist wooden table (rectangular or round) designed by Reinhard Dienes Díaz that reflects Díaz’ signature style of combining traditional shapes and modern details. The table can be used for dining, work, or play.
