Andis Dog Grooming Clippers and Accessories

I recently decided to start grooming Wrigley and Smash at home (!!!), partially for monetary reasons but mostly because it’s something I’ve been wanting to learn. Since I’m the “research every possible thing before committing” type, I did more than my fair share of searching and reading about the best clippers out there for home grooming. My conclusion? Andis. Andis all the way, baby.

What makes Andis’ small animal grooming products the best? Well, for one they’re designed to last. Consistent grooming does a number on any clipper’s motor, but the motors in Andis clippers stay remarkably cool even with the thickest of fur, preventing burnout and giving the clippers a nice, long lifespan. I read just about every possible Andis product review that exists on the internet, and nearly everyone agreed that this company is where it’s at when it comes to dog grooming products.

They offer an incredible selection of clippers, shears, blades, trimmers, hair dryers and more, but I have my eye specifically on the “ProClip AGC Super 2 Speed Small Animal Clipper“. It’s right in the middle as far as cost goes, it has a super strong motor yet is one of the quietest clippers on the market, and the number of blades* available for this model is mind blowing.

Meanwhile, I’ve been slowly dipping my toes into the home grooming pool over the last few weeks with an eyebrow trim here and a beard trim there, but Wrigley and Smash are due up for a full groom pretty soon. I’m hoping all the grooming guides and videos (which Andis also offers) will lead me down the path of home grooming victory, but we shall see! Definitely keep an eye on our Instagram feed for the results of my earnest attempts.

*From my research, the CeramicEdge blades tend to be better at distributing heat, which is definitely something you’re going to want!
