The Archipod is a new concept in backyard office design. With the increase in technology and the rise in traffic and travel costs, perhaps a backyard office is just the place for you to get your work done without feeling trapped in your house all day.
Archipod offers workers an alternative to office work. Designed around the idea that a garden building should become part of the garden landscape, Archipod’s “pod” office is unique to other garden office designs in that it consists of a 3m-diameter sphere rather than a conventional square box. The structure is prefabricated in sections that are sized to allow all the parts to be carried through a house, so it doesn’t matter where you live — they’ll be able to get it into your garden.
There are power outlets, data ports, electric heat, and natural light and ventilation. Additionally, because of its unique shape and the generous natural light from the roof dome, it actually looks bigger on the inside than the outside. See for yourself.
Thanks, George!

Wow! This looks absolutely beautiful on the outside and the workspace inside looks really serene and calming. I have to get one of these on my wish list. Everyone should have an archipod!

I love this and wish that I was in one right now as I work from home. What a beautiful space and for someone like me who can get easily distracted great to be a few steps away from my home space.
Lovely website, glad that I found you…I will be back
WIll be sharing this with others at smartlifeways.com.

Very nice, just don’t like that Mac hardware in there.

The point of the article is the structure, not the computer.

Designed by someone who loves their Mac. No thanks.
White walls feel like an institution to me. The Bad Kind.

Just paint it. Done. Fixed.

As an architect this looks neat, but where do you store your stuff? How do you hang book shelves to hold your books? A regular file cabinet will not sit flush against the wall. I guess if all you need to conduct business is a mac computer and some flowers, you’re in great shape.

well it looks terrible, who would want that in their garden, especially in these times of recession? A waste of money £12,000! People will always need to commute to work and if this is put near a public highway you WILL need planning permission.

Archipod………….Archiwaste! What a terrible piece of junk! I am getting tired of these gimmick-kind of bullshit design.
Get a real job or waste your time and money on something else

Personally, I would love to go work in the garden every day since I work from home. I feel very cooped up in the house, and it would be nice to get out of it for 8-10 hours a day instead of spending all 24 in the same space.

Very creative, very artistic.

I love the concept, and I truly appreciate the idea because I work from home as well.
Apparently some of the people here would of like to see a huge pc with lots of microsoft stickers? – These photos are intended to show a clutter-free environment, but you can always fill it up with cheap furniture, britney spears posters and a smelly cat.

Love the concept & wouldn’t mind marking it out as my territory with my PC,Eames chair Flowers and smelly cat. Will pass on the Britney poster

its innovative…but its kinda conjstd…nd im not gettn ny idea abt d storage space..usually an office space must b cool in nature..lyk it shd b simple in its plan..
nd in dis design he hd used circular plan wch may create disfomfort for the person who is using it…
especially physical discomfort…
bt its really creative

Nice, clean and bright inside, conducive to peace and quiet. The isolation is good for those of us who want to think without interruption. It is good to see a concept materialize.

It is nice to have specific place to work in it, but the shape of this building and the material are very strange. The building from outside it look unusual, and the opening in the top of the building will provide a direct light in the summer and in the winter will be closed by snow, the other windows are good and help to provide light in summer and winter.

I think this is a great design!!!.
It’s something you will either love, or hate. Totally down to each individual’s choice.
Where can I see this for myself, and how can I get more info on this Archipod??

Hey my neighbour has just taken delivery of an archipod. It needs to be seen to be appreciated!
fantastic design, wonderful space and they built in an extension area for loads of filing/storage.
Not everyone could afford the price tag but it is a stunning office and he had air conditioning fitted.
I understand they offer a full menu of options. i want one.. i chatted to the guys that installed it
.. very cool people..
