Aronson Woodworks, whom we spotted during this year’s ICFF 2018 show, specializes in hand-crafted wood furniture that utilizes a patent-pending application process to highlight the beauty in the grain of the wood. Their custom finish called CLAIZE uses two or more opaque paint colors to completely cover a wooden surface and accentuate the wood’s natural grain pattern. While the application can be applied to any material with a grain, ash wood is most used for its superior grain contrast.
Using both modern machines and traditional hand tools and joinery techniques, the furniture created by Aronson Woodworks exemplifies the level of quality and excellence that can only be achieved through the time-honored principles of woodworking. The Iowa-based company also salvages lumber whenever possible by working with local tree care and removal companies in an effort to minimize valuable trees ending up in a landfill.
