  This crate is not worth endorsing. It’s an aesthetic choice, and it is immensely disappointing. When you pay this much money for a crate, and the maker does not allow returns, you expect something that is beautiful and functions perfectly. The pictures are accurate. I’ll say that. But perhaps the most essential part of a crate—the door the dog will go in and out of, and that you’ll be opening and closing daily—is horribly constructed. When you pull it down, you then have to lift it up so it will fit into the groove in the base, and why that’s not a hard thing to do, the whole way up or down it rattles along an uncoated metal track and bangs up against the wood when you lift before dropping (and banging) down into the slot. Of course, all of this can be managed by a very slow, steady hand and uber-precise movements. But who wants to be that careful every time they open and close a crate. The result is that, for most people, it will always be loud, always banging, always clanging when you open and close it. My $29 express crate from a mass producer works better and is quieter than this thing.

  In short, this is a form over function move. Also, the bed isn’t very good; every time we open the crate, our dog is on the side, sandwiched between the bed and the side of the crate. He is reluctant to get inside it every night. Whereas he would happily jump into his old wire crate.

  It’s all a no for us. And we’re stuck with a huge bill.
