&CAIRO is a new brand of furniture that launched during Cairo’s first design fair at the +20 Egypt Design and Furnex Exhibition. &CAIRO began when brothers Cherif and Ramy Makram decided to expand their family furniture manufacturing business through creation of a new brand. Influenced by the city the brothers live in and love, &CAIRO’s first collection is a fresh and emotional one that gathers pieces by designers from all over the world. I’d keep my eyes on them — their first collection appears very promising.

Pictured above is the L Lounge designed by Karim Mekhtigian, which mixes and matches styles to become a coherent whole — a good representation of the city of Cairo. The lounge has two surfaces, each side is upholstered with a different color of leather portraying the multiple sides of the city. The seat also comes into several versions combining goblin or canvas with leather.
