Just as cells in the human body are the functional building blocks responsible for creating everything, so are the cubes and cylindrical shapes used to make each piece of the Cell Series by eiot. The design studio and workshop make furniture with a single theme, exploring the world we live in in search of similar shapes and gatherings. Any grouping that consists of similar groups of things is an inspiration, from city skyscrapers to schools of fish. The Cell Series uses a basic shaped unit – a cube with a cylinder – to create more substantial units of furniture that can be transformed through proportion and length, as well as by tying several units together with a strap for variety.
