After stints as the art director for two record labels, art directing, and designing album packaging and ad campaigns for musicians, Cole Gerst became the first in-house art director for the House of Blues corporation. In 2002, Gerst left House of Blues to create the visual communication firm Option-G. In 2005, the company launched t-shirt line, selling to such companies as Urban Outfitters and Fred Segal. For this week’s CMYLK, we paired three of Gerst’s acrylic and mixed media paintings with palettes created with Colourlovers.
