Furniture Inspired by Barrel-Making by Dome Studio

Based in London, newly formed design firm Dome Studio recently launched their inaugural collection of furniture called Cooper, which consists of the Cooper Dining Table, Cooper Bench, and the Cooper Stool. Founded by Central Saint Martins graduates Tom Whiteway and Jonathan Blayney, Dome’s work features functional pieces with clean lines.

The simple forms were inspired by the traditional craft of barrel making. Using a seven-sided moulding machine, the pair set out to use this industrial process to produce their furniture, something that hasn’t been done before.
