Sometimes a pattern is so good, it doesn’t need any additional words or elements to detract from its design. Such is the case with this Seastone pattern that’s marbled by hand, a technique that’s been used by many cultures for thousands of years. It’s also the specialty of Rule of Three, a Los Angeles-based studio founded by Paige Cleveland, that creates hand-marbled patterns and designs on various materials included silk, linen, cotton, and leather. The process is quite mesmerizing, just see here and here.
The prints are available in various goods for your home like coasters, pillows, leather trays, and even ceramics. Because of hand-made nature of the marbling process, each piece is unique and bespoke, like a true work of art that’s sitting discretely next to you rather than hung on a wall.
Without any quotes this time (a request we’ve gotten many times and will continue every other month), the star of the show is the pattern itself for this month’s Designer Desktop. Download them below to add to all your tech devices.
