A Dual Purpose Bedside Table by Jake Barker

The Lux Bedside Table is the latest design from product and furniture designer Jake Barker, who recently graduated from Northumbria University in Newcastle. The piece serves dual functions – it’s both a bedside table and a lamp in one.

Outfitted with warm white LEDs, the table emits a soft ambient glow that users can adjust to one of three brightness settings, each with a different effect. From a functional beam of light to a soft nightlight, the settings adjust by touching the polished steel plate.

Depending on what you’re looking for, you can move the light around. If you want ambient light, attach the light to the backside of the table where there are strong magnets to keep it in place.

Take it off when you need more direct light.
