The Ball Chair is one of the most well known classics of Finnish design and represents the international breakthrough for designer Eero Aarnio. Created in 1963 and presented to the world in 1966 at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne, the Ball chair had an immediate impact on the world of design. Gracing movie screens from James Bond to Men in Black, the Ball Chair has gained international fame. Eero Aarnio’s Ball Chair can also be found in the collections of modern art and design museums across the world as it represents a revolution in design that occurred during the 1960’s that remains influential today.
