Exclusive: Glitch by Tim Defleur for OTHR

Introducing our latest OTHR exclusive preview: the playful Glitch vessels by French native Tim Defleur, crafted in 3D printed porcelain. Available in two sizes and colorways, these complementary shapes invite the user to play with combinations to create a unique dialogue between elements.

Together, these deceivingly simple vessel possess a gravity-defying asymmetry.

Glitch exhibits a unique profile that shifts depending on the angle of its viewer. From one side, it’s a simple shape; from the other, a balancing act is revealed.

True to its name, Glitch was born from a mistake. While sketching on a train from France to Brussels, Tim’s drawings were altered by the car’s movement. Inspired by glassblowing and ceramics—trades in which defects are embraced as a part of the process—Tim decided to replicate the unpredictability of craftsmanship using the precision of 3D printing. The result? A machine-made shape that remains human and familiar.

A young French designer, Tim Defleur divides his time between Lille, where he lives, and Brussels, where he works. After a earning his degree in interior design, he studied Industrial Design at the International School of Design in Northern France. Now, when not working in Alain Gilles’ studio, Tim pursues his own projects; developing his own vocabulary and vision.
