Located in Vancouver’s West Point Grey neighborhood, the Folded House was designed by Scott Posno Design for a working couple whose sons had grown up and moved out. The empty nesters wanted to replace their aging family home with a modern one that would work with their personal and professional lives as they moved forward. The new two-story residence spans 2,800 square feet with the main living areas on the ground level, while the three bedrooms were located on the second floor.
In addition to the two main floors that are visible from the street, there’s also a finished basement with two small offices that allow the homeowners to work from home when needed. There’s a separate entrance around back for their music students to enter for lessons.
The exterior is clad in contrasting materials – Douglas fir around the entryway, front door, and the soffit, and standard seam aluminum hung vertically.
A switchback staircase with open risers and glass balustrades lets light filter into the interior. Polished concrete floors, white walls, and warm walnut millwork create a harmonious living space.
The bathrooms are covered in rich Carrara marble tiles that are paired with white components and chrome fixtures.

This home is spectacular. The white walls allow the home decor that they have chosen to really stand out and make an impact. I also enjoy how they carried out both the natural wood and blue accents throughout the home it creates a cohesive feel.

Natural tints in the design of apartments always topically and look well. An excellent decision is in style of minimalism.
