George and Willy Release a New Kraft Paper Roll Dispenser

Back in 2014, we shared a kraft paper roll dispenser from George and Willy that we still get asked about to this day. The New Zealand studio has taken the original design a step further with the release of the Smith Roller. The new version offers the same, easy-to-use messaging system as the first one but with the use of natural materials instead of metal. Using American Ash wood and high-quality Italian leather, the Smith Roller delivers a clean writing surface simply by pulling down on the paper. The paper is kept in place by a flat wooden bar that becomes a straight edge for easy tearing when you’re done.

Two leather loops held in place by brass screws suspend a wooden dowel that holds a roll of kraft paper. Whether you’re a doodler, a designer, or a list-maker, the options are pretty limitless as to what you can use the Smith Roller for – it’s even great for kids who like to writer or draw.

The Smith Roller comes with everything you need to mount and use it, even a roll of brown kraft paper.

The Smith Roller comes out in a few weeks and you can sign up to be notified when it’s on sale here.
