Last year Porsche created a grill for Grandhall, now the sensational, unaffordable luxury sports car brand Lamborghini has licensed out the brand to IKRA (tool makers) and designed a series of garden tools that are like nothing in the market: Tonino Lamborghini.
It is an interesting addition to the market where tools — despite improvements in functionality — are seriously lagging behind in the design revolution changing almost every other segment of the market.
These high end designs will most certainly help attract the iPod and Blackberry generation outdoors. According to the Society of Garden Designers right now the upcoming generations have lost interest in the garden aspect of outdoors and this is a well-needed boost.
These are real market changers and will likely be on many holiday wishlists!

I don’t think this works. The design isn’t really very pretty and it rather seems like they sacrified usability in favour of apperance. That said, I obviously don’t know how well they work, but that’s what those pictures radiate.
Also, when I buy gardening tools, I want them to look super efficient and designed entirely with function in mind. Tools are not supposed to look good, they’re supposed to look like tools.
These things on the other hand have more of a super soaker feel to it.

As a former landscaper and home owner, I have to agree with Spaghetti. Further, lawn equipment gets REALLY dirty by definition, and I wouldn’t want to have to clean it up after every job as a home owner.

I agree with Spaghetti, it looks like the designers have made them to look more appealing to the eyes rather than having a good amount of usability. I only base my comment on the pictures and don’t know how good they work.
