Porter + Trundle, made up of design duo Sarah Porter and James Trundle, officially came to life as a brand in South London in 2019. This year they were added to Design-Nation’s membership portfolio for contemporary designer-makers based in the UK who create craft, design, and product.
Porter + Trundle’s designs exist as both functional and sculptural objects, their work combining contemporary color and form with traditional methods of fabrication. The pair are also interested in the exploration of new and sustainable materials, with products such as their minimalist Loop Side Table and Loop Shelf acting as fine examples.
The Loop Side Table is handcrafted from solid wood and finished in colored semi-gloss paint, with a looped cubby and built-in bookshelf. With each table handmade to order, you’ll also receive a color consultation to assist you in choosing your own unique color palette. There’s also a version of the table available with brass inlay, and in a range of sustainably sourced wood. Pictured in the photo below is Sapele hardwood.
The Loop Shelf is a minimal piece with a built-in picture ledge and cubby hole. Handmade from a range of solid woods, seen here Sapele hardwood, each shelf shows off the natural grains making each piece uniquely special.
