Architect Staffan Svenson of Dencity Design recalls his conversation with the owner of this residence:
Larry Goldstone had a simple program. He wanted a view from every room, and he wanted it to be open, with lots of glass. And he wanted it to have a quiet backyard. But he didn’t want a sculptural, stark thing; it needed to be warmer and softer.
Larry was very specific about what he wanted. He had pages and pages of things he had researched. And he said, “Whatever you do, there can’t be any white!”
Well, despite the fact that I can’t buy anything that isn’t white, I still love this house and would move in tomorrow.

The building itself is pretty. I love the “windows everywhere” concept. The interior is so incredibly sterile, though, that I find it impossible to believe that anyone lives there.

It’s great idea to have so much sunlight come in. I know I have always been happiest in houses where there is somehow a feeling that you’re almost outside, it has a very elevating effect. plus I’m sure it is quite a good influence on health.

The sterility is a function of the photo shoot. Also, minimalist tends to lean that way. Regardless, envision that house with YOUR stuff. That’s what matters…

That house is amazing. I’d move in a second. And I’d bring all my stuff: My white bed frames, white 50s dinette set and definitely a fluffy white dog. Perfection.

Wow. Very cool. I love the kitchen backsplash tile.

Love this house! I am saving for a house like this someday! I love how it’s modern but not cold, I love the wooden finishes, and the pool also. Now if I can have a house like this in some neat mountain/hiking place so I can swim and hike whenever I want. Sweet!
