Good Boy, Good Puppy Lamps

Sooo…. this showed up in my inbox last week. Obviously, I wouldn’t dare deprive you of such subversive artistry. Plus, c’mon, it’s pretty dang funny, right?

Good Boy, Good Puppy Lamps

The Good Boy and Good Puppy lamps are by a UK artist and designer who simply goes by the moniker “Whatshisname“. Designed for the Art Below exhibition in London, they were ultimately banned for being “too offensive”. They’re available in limited editions of 100 (Good  Boy) and 200 (Good Puppy). Mostly, the fact that you have to step on a turd (something I generally try my utmost to avoid) to turn the light on makes me giggle.

What do you guys think? Funny? Offensive? Can you think of a space where these lamps might actually work?

Capree has a deep love of Victorian-era “fancy lads”, 19th Century anatomy drawings, and tin robots. She loves big, bold colors and big, bold patterns. Oh, and anything well-designed, especially if it’s something she can sit in.
