Unfortunately, this lighting fixture designed and built by Kevin Champeny from Jellio isn’t made with real Gummi bears. Instead, it’s made with approximately two thousand acrylic Gummi bears. Each fixture takes over a month to complete and it would make a sweet addition to any household.

yaya chou made a similar piece years ago… she’s got much better craftsmanship, in my opinion: http://www.yayachou.com/

ups. check out Stuart Haygarth me made the Tide Chandelier (and others) for hes break through exhibition af Designers Block in London 2005. This lamp made by Jellio is so close to a copy/rip off, as you can get. I would feel ashame, since Stuart is a well known artist. And hes lamps has been in magazines all over the world. What do you think Design Milk???

Hi Lasse,
Yes it is very similar to Stuart’s work in its construction, which we covered here: http://design-milk.com/tide-chandelier/ but I don’t think it is a rip-off because Jellio used acrylic gummi bears and Stuart used found materials. It’s quite a difference concept and statement in my opinion.
