Schröders Hund is a new-to-me dog accessories brand that has an almost 200-year-old lineage. Their masterfully-crafted collars and leads are some of the finest leather dog accessories I’ve ever seen and the reason lies in Schröders Hund’s history. These top-class collars and leashes are a product of the Ludwig Schröder leather workshop in Uetersen near Hamburg. Founded in 1825, the workshop is not only one of the few in Germany but also amongst the most renowned in the world.
The company has developed three collections of leashes and dog collars under the Schröders Hund brand, all handmade in Germany. Having seen these pieces in person, believe me when I tell you that these are some of the most well-made collars and leashes on the planet. (The idea of “heirloom quality” dog products doesn’t really exist — until now.) Not only that, but they are absolutely stunning and feature some seriously gorgeous — and durable — hardware.
