I have a confession: I saw this insanely awesome collection of dog accessories by Japanese design firm Nendo last fall… and then forgot to write about it. I KNOW. How is that even possible? So, before any more time spent withholding the knowledge of this amazing collection goes by, behold the ‘Head or Tails‘ dog house (that folds down to become a dog bed), the matching reversible food and water dish, and the brilliant bone-turned-ball dog toy!

Designed in 2013 by Nendo for the lifestyle magazine Pen, the Head or Tails series is just about the coolest collection of dog accessories I’ve ever seen! Unfortunately, these designs are not yet in production but I’m hoping they become available for purchase soon because, holy cow, I am obsessed.

Here’s what Nendo has to say about these designs:

Head or Tails is a three-piece dog accessory collection, consisting of a dog bed, dishes and toys. The artificial leather bed becomes a little hut when dogs burrow inside it, and a cushion when they lie on top. The ceramic dishes are reversible, with a shallow dish for food on one side and a deeper dish for water on the other, and the silicon rubber ‘bone’ can be reshaped into a ball by tucking in the two ends. As a result of looking for a form that could be stable in two different shapes, the collection is constructed of triangular panels connected in polygon mesh. It comes in two colors – white and black – to harmonize with home interiors.
