I’m sure every dog imagines him- or herself as a hero on some grand, daring adventure. That’s exactly the spirit that Kevin Cancienne has captured in his role-playing video game, Home Free. Inspired in part by Cancienne’s own dog, Princess, who was rescued after fending for herself on the mean streets of New York, Home Free invites players to play as one of over a dozen breeds, making your way through a randomly-generated city to, hopefully, a forever home. Cancienne launched his project on Kickstarter and it was fully funded in under a week, so any remaining funds raised will go to adding more features to the game, such as additional dog types, city areas, and cats. You can check out more about the creative and developmental process behind Home Free and watch a cool preview video over at Kickstarter.
