Jon Irons, of Irons Design Co., designed TRACE as a minimalist lamp made from as little material as possible. The simple design looks like an outline of a lamp, as if it has been traced on wood, cut out, and put together.
The two wooden frames fit together to form a three-dimensional lamp that holds a light socket, creating a functioning lamp with personality.
Looks ridiculously simple, but I imagine a lot of thought went into it to get the measurements and dimensions right.

How come this is designed to use as little material as possible?
The lampshade shape doesn’t serve any purpose and wastes material. And what happens with all the material within the shape?
If you wanted to use as little material as possible this lamps should be a stick with the bulb on top. This seems needlessly complicated to that purpose.

Yeah, what about wastes?
OK, leaving wastes aside, it would be more minimal if only cable was used.

Use less material? Seriously? Usually I hate negativity in comment sections but this is complete nonsense.
