Linocut Dog Prints by Thomas Rude

I kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a trip to Portland Saturday Market, one of the largest outdoor arts and crafts markets in the U.S., and nearly left empty handed until I spotted the work of self-taught linocut and woodcarving artist Thomas Rude.

I was immediately smitten with the bold, graphic style and humorous imagery of his pieces and would have kicked myself indefinitely if I had walked out of his booth without owning one of his dog-themed prints (because, obviously, all I need is more dog art)! See more of his work here and, if you’re interested in a print or two, contact Thomas directly.

Capree has a deep love of Victorian-era “fancy lads”, 19th Century anatomy drawings, and tin robots. She loves big, bold colors and big, bold patterns. Oh, and anything well-designed, especially if it’s something she can sit in.
