The simple task of slicing a nice piece of cake and getting it to your plate can be quite difficult sometimes. Finnish art and design student Maria Kivijärvi came up with a solution to this small problem by designing a stainless steel cake server that makes slicing a piece of cake, well, “a piece of cake.” You no longer have to worry about the perfection of your slicing and the piece toppling over as you move it to your plate! The server cuts a uniform slice every time and the squeeze of the handle keeps the cake in the server until you release it.

wtf is this shit? whats wrong with using a cake slice? that looks like a tiny piece of cake, and gives no control over the sizing of the portion – what if i want a bigger piece? or a smaller piece?

There are two sides to the thing, one large, one small. So it seems you can get at least two sizes. That and the thing is flexible. If it is one-sized, maybe the kiddies won’t complain about getting less than the person next to them. Or it would be good at a restaurant where the slices should all be the same size (and dropping results in a loss of $). I think it’s great and say to you “boo hoo.”
