Miito is bursting on the scene as a completely new way to heat liquid. Unlike traditional tea kettles and water boilers, Miito only heats the amount of liquid you need.
Miito consists of a rod and a base. To heat any liquid, all you do is fill your vessel with however much liquid you like, put it on the induction base, and immerse the rod in the liquid. Once the rod is immersed, the induction power turns on and heats the base.
Once the liquid has boiled, the rod signals the base to go on standby. When the rod is fully placed on the base without being immersed in anything, the device shuts off.

How efficient is this compared to a microwave oven? Now I have one more item to wash, in addition to having to be careful with a hot base and a hot rod.

Had the same idea but did not proceed because of the efficiency of this small piece of metal. It takes way too long. But the idea is nice.
