Grey Paw accessories (mostly leashes and collars, but also adorable bowties and travel mats) are, as mentioned, all handmade in beautiful Portland, Oregon. Aren’t they beea-uuu-tee-ful? I love that they’re constructed from durable, locally-sourced materials like cotton rope, hemp string, and vegetable tanned leather. Mingus and Dottie are really into quality craftsmanship and design (oh, wait — that would be me), and Grey Paw leashes and collars have both in spades. The attention to detail in construction is impeccable, and the materials used to fashion Grey Paw accessories seem specially selected for quality and durability.
Durability and quality materials are important to us, but my favorite aspect of Grey Paw leashes and collars is their overall design aesthetic and stylish details. From the classy hand-dyed cotton rope to the ribbon featuring Grey Paw’s custom arrowhead print to the just-so decorative leather tags and metal hardware, everything about Grey Paw’s design has me all a-drool. If I were a dog, I would totallyyyy wear this stuff. (I think I’d be a bloodhound.) I also like that many of the collars feature quick-release clasps, in both plastic and brass, which we prefer for safety and convenience.
The good news is, with Grey Paw, you don’t have to sacrifice substance for style. Dottie’s been rockin’ her Grey Paw collar for over a week now, and besides a few tiny to-be-expected dings (which I actually like the look of) in the brass clasp, it’s still in awesome, like-new shape. If you knew how rough-and-tumble our little Dot is, you’d know that’s high praise. And when she does get it dirty? It’s hand-washable! The rope leash is lightweight, comfortable to hold, and just the right length (a little over 5′ long).
