It seems like 99.9 times out of 100, all nail salons look the same. If you’ve ever had a manicure or pedicure, you know what I’m talking about! Occasionally you’ll find a good one you don’t mind relaxing in for the duration of your ‘cures and the Melbourne, Australia Missy Lui is one of them. The toxic free nail salon was designed by French-born, Melbourne-based architect and designer who also goes by SASUFI.

Located on a busy street in Armadale, the salon believes in sourcing toxic free and natural products to bring quality and environmentally friendly nail services to the area. To complement that, the space reflects the natural philosophy with bamboo floors, a limited palette, and pebble tiles.

Overall the salon has a minimalist, clean feel, while also appearing warm and comfortable. The manicure tables are designed to create an intimate space between the client and the salon staff. They were also designed so that they could be moved to another location if need be.

On the flip side, cozy armchairs are used for the clients to relax in while getting their pedicures.

As a chemical & environmental engineer, there is no “Toxic” free in nail salon. All chemicals has their owns toxicity level; however, our body become poisoned by the chemical or not depending on the degree of exposure that we involve in the chemical environment.
For a client who come to a nail salon once a month, she has nothing to worry about the toxic because she being exposed in a short term and the body will detox before the next visit.
The ones have to worry are those technicians with chronic exposure.

I love the style, but it feels a little temporary to me. I know the manicurist tables are designed to move, but they remind me of flip-down caravan tables!
