For this month’s Destination Design, we’re skipping the usual hotels and heading right to an unusual setup in Ghent, Belgium, which is a loft apartment located on the top floor of WATT Ghent, an iconic building that houses a design gallery, fashion shop, magazine store, beauty shop, cocktail bar, and plant shop. Maybe you’re asking why we’re showing you an apartment, and well, this apartment is one you can rent out via Airbnb.
The apartment was designed by creative agency DIFT and project developer Re-Vive, who came together for WATT to create an experience for design lovers. They were able to furnish the four-bedroom apartment with goods from espoo., Piet Moodshop, Huiszwaluw Home, Koperhuis, Labt, and Studio Klaer, all stores and design friends they worked with to make it happen.
Each of the four bedrooms was given its own design scheme: the green room, the animal room, the quiet room, and the school room.
While they brought in modern wares to furnish the interior, they maintained the original charm of the building and even used various items that were uncovered onsite.
