Mono Chair

Modern wicker often seems like an oxymoron to me, but every once in a while I come across a wicker piece or two worthy of hanging out on a patio with some Bertoia or butterfly chairs.

The Mono Chair is a wicker side chair in Beckham & Issa’s Lloyd Loom Collection. Beckham & Issa was formed by Nancy Beckham and Jane Issa, two hotel entrepreneurs, and their Lloyd Loom collection focuses on the Lloyd Loom process. This process was invented in 1917 by the American Marshall B. Lloyd, who twisted Kraft paper around a metal wire, placed the paper threads on a loom and wove them into what was to become the traditional Lloyd Loom fabric. The material was then hand upholstered to Italian beech bentwood frames. This particular chair is also part of their Naturals Collection, and is crafted from 40% recycled Kraft paper that has been pre-dyed by an environmentally friendly water-based dyeing system. Naturals Weave is 100% color fast and extremely hard wearing.
