Jared Mankelow, formerly of Conran and IDEO, has launched a new brand, Objest, that’s debuted its first collection of Swiss made quartz watches. The Hach collection came together from the experience of designing furniture, lighting, and other consumer electronics, and the result is a watch design that displays simplicity with modern design.
The watches reference an array of influences, including fashion, architecture, and product design, from Issey Miyake’s technical folds and pleats to John Pawson’s architecture, which is full of layered structures. The curvy, soft silhouette is juxtaposed with the etched ridges on the dial.
The initial models feature a Ronda Quartz movement within a 40mm stainless steel case that’s finished in premium Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) and gold finishes. Currently there are five models to choose from.
