The search for the ONE stops here. Well, at least when it comes to housing. The construction geniuses behind the Smart Highway and the Van Gogh bicycle path have recently turned their eye to housing, to create smart, modular housing for young professionals.
As one who lives in San Francisco, I can personally attest that beautiful, affordable housing for young professionals is definitely something I long for. Heijmans has created Heijmans ONE, a movable home that can be placed in any urban site in just one day.
The affordable, rental prefab consists of everything one would need in a single household. It has a kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, and even an outside patio. The easy movability of Heijmans ONE is also meant to bring to life more dreary urban pockets with unharvested potential.
They hope to launch the first 30 ONES in the Netherlands this year.
