Paul Boddum is a Canadian artist whose work is simply beautiful. He is able to capture feelings in his paintings not only through the dog’s expression but through the colors and strokes used in each work.
“The Pampered Puppy”
Auctioned off at New York Pet Fashion Week to help raise funds for local New York animal rescues.
“Lucy”
The Lucy portrait was commissioned as a surprise gift for Canadian TV personality Ann Rohmer to thank her for all her tireless work with local dog charities. She had Lucy for 16 years and the portrait has helped honor her memory. The background was inspired by Lucy’s love of walks at the park and that terrier energy, and its abstract style complemented her contemporary-decorated condo.
“Lucky”
The preparation for this work was entirely over email for NYC-based clients who wanted a portrait to reflect their love of their pet and to fit in with their modern style apartment. The clients emailed Paul swatches of their wall paint to get the color palette just right.
“Noah 2”
Portrait of the artist’s dog and muse Noah, a rescue Spanish Water Dog.
“Link”
Portrait for celebrity chef Art Smith, Chicago IL.
“The Boston”
Recently a part of an exhibition at The Museum of Arts and Sciences, Daytona Beach Florida. The exhibition is titled Woof! Art of the Dog and included Weimaraner photographer William Wegman and George Rodrigue (Blue Dog).
