Product designer Beatriz Nuño focuses on the importance of play with a simple candle holder she calls Pile. Each scrap piece of wood comes with a hole in it that allows a candle to slide through it to hold it in place. Stack a “pile” of them and you have a stable candle holder.
Combine and stack the pieces to your liking to create your own unique candle holders.
Using off cut scraps of wood from London’s Citywood Services, a company that specializes in recycling wood waste, you never know what you’re going to get as to what color and thickness each piece is.

You can even paint the wood pieces in yellow with dark yellow dots to represent the cheese :)

Use caution. with wood candle holders. You may think you would never forget to extinguish candles but after some wine and food and moving to another room (and young &naive back then) I awoke in the middle of the night to the floor walls and ceilings ablaze.
