Plakatstil-Style Dog Breed Posters from The Gruff Sir

The Gruff Sir is a series of illustrated posters done in the popular 1900s German Plakatstil style. Inspired by his love of graphic design as well as its history and evolution, designer Joseph Fioramonti began the series as an ode to his little Westie, Mr. Elwood. The collection has since expanded to include a few of Mr. Elwood’s real-life friends: Speeder, Ms. Trinity, and Patron.

Capree has a deep love of Victorian-era “fancy lads”, 19th Century anatomy drawings, and tin robots. She loves big, bold colors and big, bold patterns. Oh, and anything well-designed, especially if it’s something she can sit in.
