Back in June, I attended BlogPaws and had the chance to meet the cool kids behind P.L.A.Y. Pet Lifestyle and You in person. (And, yes, they’re just as fun and cheerful as their name implies!) They asked if I would be interested in testing out one of their new Voyager Lounge Beds. Knowing that we were bringing a new dog home for trial adoption the next day, I jumped at the chance!
Well, two months have passed, that “trial” dog is now a full-fledged member of the family (he has a name and everything — it’s “Smash“), and he’s been sleeping on the Voyager Lounge Bed every night since. Here’s what we think of P.L.A.Y.’s new bed!
The day we brought Smash home, one of the first things he showed any interest in was this bed. (This is probably because it was the only thing in the house that didn’t smell like Wrigley!) He was quick to claim it, digging and fluffing it up to perfection. For a while, it even functioned as his go-to bone hiding spot. After two months of nightly scratching, digging, occasional chewing, and weirdo face rubbing, I’m happy to report that it still looks brand new!
As far as beds go, this is one of the best I’ve seen and used. The cover material, a furniture-grade velvet, is extreeeeemely durable, not to mention insanely soft. Hidden zippers allow you to remove the cover (from both the outside of the bed as well as the inner pillow) for easy cleaning in a washing machine and dryer. The high-loft filler is eco-friendly PlanetFill® filler, which is comprised of 100% post-consumer certified-safe recycled plastic bottles. (There are 108 recycled bottles in every extra large bed — 25 in Smash’s size small lounge-style bed! Impressive, right?)
One of the things I like most about the beds from P.L.A.Y., aside from their super high quality and extreme durability, is that they commission artists from across the globe to create exclusive designs. The Voyager Lounge Bed features the work of Paris design studio Atelier LZC. Pretty awesome, if you ask me!
Along with the new Lounge-style beds, P.L.A.Y. has also released a brand new collection of throw pillows designed to complement the style-conscious pet owner?s home décor. They’re made from the same durable material, so you don’t have to worry about Fido ruining your favorite decorative pillow. Genius!
