Contour is a new collection designed by Los Angeles-based ceramist Morgan Peck in collaboration with multi-hyphenate Kelly Wearstler. Inspired by rock shapes, stone formations, and LEGO pieces, the collection consists of vases, bowls, plates, candlesticks, and mirrors, each uniquely made by hand. Every piece differs from each other, not because of the nature of handcrafted ceramics, but because each one has its own interpretative composition, lacking a clearly defined form while still maintaining a collective identity as a whole.
The vases and mirror in the collection were built with a new construction method for Morgan, along with the new dark brown glaze. While this is the first collaboration between Kelly and Morgan, the collection is not a far departure from Morgan’s unique style of work, which often explores shapes, size, scale, and handmade details.
