Christmas came a little early for our resident product testers this week when SimplyFido sent over some of their brand-spankin’-new Rubb’n’Roll toys for Wrigley and Smash to try out! The Dog Milk boys were pretty excited to sink their teeth into these all-natural rubber toys. Read on for our review!
[Disclosure: SimplyFido sent me three Rubb’n’Roll toys for review. All views and opinions are my own.]
First, the Rubb’n’Roll toy collection is made entirely of 100% natural, biodegradable, non-toxic, FDA-approved rubber, so you don’t have to worry about THAT. Second, they come in a variety of fun shapes, which are designed for different styles of play. We got to try out the ‘Cirque‘, ‘Chew Buddy‘, and ‘Treat Ball‘. There are six other designs in addition to these, so be sure to check them all out!
Wrigley was quick to claim the Cirque toy:
In fact, his love for this toy threw him into a fit of glee as evidenced by these (totally blurry — he was moving THAT fast) photos:
OMG, THE JOY.
The Cirque toy was great for a game of fetch and proved to be a pretty durable tug toy to boot! It was definitely a favorite of the bunch.
Smash was rather attached to the Chew Buddy toy, which he chewed on quite vigorously before gnawing one of the bumps/lumps off (you can see a video of his determined chewing on Instagram):
Admittedly, I was a little bummed by how quickly the Chew Buddy began to come apart (all of 10 minutes). I took it away as soon as Smash got the first ‘bump’ off, which he (and other dogs) would have no doubt continued to chew on until there were no bumps left at all. Of course, a bump-less Chew Buddy could still be a functioning toss and fetch toy!
The third toy style we tried was the Treat Ball, which was Wrigley’s FAVORITE (obviously). I stuffed it with peanut butter and let Wriggles go to town on it:
The Treat Ball seems the hardiest of the bunch, which is probably because it’s a big ol’ hunk of solid rubber (without small points to gnaw on and chew off). No doubt this one will be around for a long, long time.
Overall, these toys are quite durable, especially if you pick a toy design that fits your dog’s play and chew styles. Like I mentioned before, there are quite a few other designs, so be sure to take a peek and, if you see one you like, check to see which local shops carry SimplyFido!
